Artist Bio

While studying Business Science, Lino Escalera discovered a new professional path. He left Madrid to study film at New York University, and then expanded his studies at the EICTV, Cuba. In 2000 he returned to Madrid to direct his first short film Espacio 2.  He is currently working in advertising production and writing, along with screenwriter Mona León, the script for his first feature-length film.

Australia has appeared at festivals worldwide, including the International Festival of Galdar, the Short Film Week of the Community of Madrid, and the Iberian Film Festival.  It is the winner of a Special Mention of the Jury at the 2017 Fascurt El Masnou Short Film Festival, and the Telemadrid Award for Best Screenplay.
