Artist Bio

Shujun Wei was born in Beijing in 1991 and majored in film directing at the Communication University of China. He made his directorial feature debut in 2016 with Duck Neck. He had previously directed two documentaries, Said in a Forbidden City (2011), and Hancheng Colours (2013).


ON THE BORDER premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in competition, where it was awarded a Special Jury Distinction by the festival’s Short Film Jury. This is the film’s United States premiere.
