La Cañada Real, Europe's largest slum on the outskirts of Madrid, has been without electricity for over a year. Toni and Nasser have made this place their playground. But one day, Nasser tells Toni that he is leaving for France.

EVEN THOUGH IT’S NIGHT was nominated for the Palme d’Or for Best Short Film at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. It was also the winner of the 2024 Goya Award for Best Short Fiction Film. In all, the film has garnered over 11 wins and 14 nominations internationally.


Guillermo García López is a filmmaker born in Madrid. His first film, Frágil Equilibrio' premiered at IDFA and won the Goya Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. In 2020, Guillermo received the prestigious Princess of Girona Award for Arts and Literature.
