Simon Dara is Belgian and was born in 1985 in London. After a bachelor's degree in literature and studies in applied arts begun in Paris, he went on to study art at Falmouth University College in Cornwall where he obtained a bachelor's degree in fine art. He concluded his academic career at the Royal College of Art in London, from which he graduated in 2010 with a Master's degree in Visual Communication. Today he works as a freelance graphic designer and art director for various cultural institutions. In 2015, he co-directed with his brother Julien THE ORDINARY, his first short film.

Julien Dara is Belgian and was born in London in 1987. After a literary baccalaureate and two years of studies at INSAS (Brussels), he worked as an assistant editor for two years for Bonne Pioche television. He then met the director Tony Gatlif, for whom he became his personal assistant for four years. He then started working as an assistant director, first on Tony Gatlif's films and then on other feature films.
