Olivier Côté is a young Montreal director and screenwriter who often deals with real-life events in his films. His previous student short films, Filme-Moi and l'Abat, stood out at festivals during his school career. Les Rois thus completes a trilogy on peer pressure in hyper-masculine contexts.
